Modeling pulp (also known as mold fiber) has been used to make containers, trays and other packaging since the 1930s. However, currently known fiber technology is not suitable for food packaging that foods can contact with packaging, especially meat and poultry containers, prefabricated foods, agricultural products, microwave food containers, and lids and cups for beverage containers.
